The Swirling Myths Around Alex

I don’t know what it is exactly, and perhaps it’s just that time of the year.

While many months may go by, and thousands of e-mails with questions specific to myopia, suddenly now I get messages of an entirely different nature.

Messages musing about the scheme to accumulate great wealth from this program.  Fears, that the paid program must a trap, dragging the unsuspecting participant deep into the lair of never ending installments  Queries about me, an international (and possibly Chinese) man of mystery and intrigue.

Granted, I exaggerate.  It really was just a grand total of three people (unless it’s just one, with various e-mail addresses), over the past few months.

But still … I am mystified.  I also believe that for every person voicing a concern, there are a dozen more who think the same, but don’t speak up.

So while the following may just be an exercise in the obvious, I will still take it on.

Warning:  What follows, may well be a little bit of a (weekend) rant!

Q:  Does the Paid Program Go On Forever?

It does not.  The Paid Program Is (At Most) 3 Months Long.

And the first month has everything you need.  Actually, the free program has everything you need.  If you lower your close-up prescription, push some focus, maybe even address overprescription in your regular glasses and limit strain, you are already doing everything you need to.  And all the key ingredients are in the forum, and in the blog anyway.

Some participants complain that there aren’t more installments.  I take note of that, and plan to add more, though yet the time has eluded me.

I add “installment worthy” content to the blog.  I encourage those who ask for more installments, to read the blog instead.  They tell me they would rather pay, and get only the step-by-step, vision improvement specifics. It is still on the list, and maybe eventually there will be more installments.

There is no pleasing everyone, obviously.

The only things special about the paid program are 1) the step-by-step approach (minimal reading required), 2) my support in the forum (which I offer anyway), and 3) the premise that you just need to read and follow one thing at a time.

Think of yoga (even though myopia rehab is in no functional way related).  All those contortions are freely available in countless books, YouTube videos, and Websites.  If you still choose to go to an actual yoga class, it is probably to have the guided experience.

Web program of Alex, same premise.  If you worry you will get demotivated, or overwhelmed, or want more than the free program, then you spend 99 Euro, and participate.

Next up, my real motive.  Is it … profit?

Q: Are You Rich From This Site, Sitting Poolside On A Tropical Beach?

I Wish!  In The Real World Though, This Site Makes Astonishingly Small Amounts Of Money.

Verifying this for yourself is quite simple.

The site has been online for a few years.  In that time, the volume of traffic has been by most accounts, quite steady.   There are no big advertising campaigns, there is no great push to get a lot more visitors.

If you have been following along for some time, you know how easily I get overwhelmed by e-mails.

For those who wonder, the forum is the best clue.  While not all paid participants ask questions in the forum (by no means all do), quite a few do come there.  Also, non-paid participants make it into the forum.  From the fairly small volume of discussion there its is quite easy to surmise that the active client base is not exactly huge.  There is also the view count next to every message, showing about how much reader activity happens there.

Taking into account all the free articles, the free program, answering e-mails, fixing site issues, making improvements, administration, accounting, etc etc, my wages for doing this site would well fit in some third world country.

If profit was indeed my motive, the site would function a very different way:

There would be no support.   There would probably be no forum, at all.  I would have a virtual assistant answer all e-mails, referring questions to the paid program.  The paid program would also not include support (at 99 Euro, what else should anyone expect?).   One-on-one with me would be 5,000 Euro per consultation.  You would see Google ads every time you type anything remotely related to eyesight.

And of course, there would be a sales pitch on every corner of the site, and none of the free content would give you a full solution – just cliff hangers, to make you spend money.

In all reality, there would be no site at all, most likely.  What makes profit, is laser surgery, and having seven franchise optic shops all over town.  Anyone in this field with half a brain, and any will to financially survive, will do that, instead of creating a site like this.

And on we go:

Q:  Why Is Your Actual Full Name, Address, And Personal Life Not Detailed On This Site?

This Site Is Not Here To Worship Alex.  It Is Here To Help Improve Your Vision.

KFC (Kentucky Friend Chicken, I believe), does not actually have Colonel Sanders in the kitchen, frying up dinner.  The people assembling iPhones are not actually smiling while they work.  Copying Michael Jordan’s shoe choice won’t make any of us better at basketball.

I would have gone on, with Santa Clause, but some of our readership is fairly young.

Of course there is the matter of trust.  Who is selling you any kind of product or service, is important.  I agree entirely with this, and I often antagonize about buying things online.  This is a challenge for all of us, that I very much empathize with.

So what about this site?

The answer I would go with, is quite simple … the Free Course.  It is free, it is complete, and it is … free.

Nothing will jump out and bite you, if you read it.  Not even, if you follow the simple instructions.  And not even, if you send me a quick e-mail (I love to hear from you, even if I complain) to ask questions about it.  The free program doesn’t leave you hanging, to make you buy the full program.  It is actually all that it promises to be.

So, you take a month (or three), and just follow the four simple pieces of advice.  Keep a log.  At the end of your trial period, look at your log again, and consider your results.

Has your eyesight improved?  Yes, hopefully.

Well, in that case, do continue!  If you improved, that means you did it correctly, and it also means of course that the course works.  It will continue to do so.  There is nothing extra you need to do, different or special (or buying the paid course), to continue improving.

Which leaves the question whether Alex is actually Chinese, as fairly irrelevant (And incidentally, I am not.  Germans tease me about my Austrian accent.  Some Germans tend to tease that they are better than Austrians.  Maybe even better than Chinese.).  I digress.

It really is a sound strategy, to do the free course.

Based on its merits and your improvement, you may decide whether my advice is worthy of your time.

And that is all we have time to unveil, for today.

Of course the site will be continue to be steeped in mystery and intrigue.  You may choose to step onto its misty shores, take a gander are the new articles here, and questions in the forum.  You may sneakily snatch a copy of the free program, and sheepishly try it at home, under the cover of darkness (or good ambient light, ideally).

You may come back with questions.  You may hopefully come back with a smile and thumbs up, sharing your vision improvements.

In any case, I do sincerely hope that you enjoy, in whatever manner you choose to partake.
