Personal Note: You Are All In My Thoughts

It is a bit of a dreary Monday morning here, with spring still struggling to assert itself.

There is quite a bit of construction noise outside, the gray skies are not providing the best ambient light for me catching up with your e-mails.

And it is quite a bit of e-mail.

Every one of them I read that talk about improvement and victories, make me smile.  I want to post them all here to the blog, to help you feel motivated, or proud, to bring you voices of inspiration when you visit the blog part of this site.

But there are also so many e-mails of high myopes, deeply concerned about their vision.

It is sometimes a difficult thing for me, especially here online.  I worry about you, I understand your feelings, I want to be able to reach out and provide the most helpful, most detailed, most specific possible answers that I possibly can.  Even small degrees of myopia can be worrisome, and it is dreadful to go to the optometrist to hear about yet another increase in myopia.

I often suggest this, in e-mail:  Try the free course.  Use it to troubleshoot your current eyesight habits.  It is a complete solution, in that I leave nothing out that you need (no sales pitch for the full, paid program).  Often times those four installments are all you need, to get yourself on track.

And of course, I am here to answer your e-mail questions, even if it sometimes takes me a while.

There are other e-mails, kids in college, asking about a quick fix.  Their myopia may still be low, they feel too busy to get into working on their eyesight, they just want the Twitter-sized solution.  I worry about them as well.  I try to say, in my response, “just take the time, read four free installments, follow their advice, your eyesight is worth so much more than most other things keeping you occupied”.

Does any of it translate?  Are my messages received, as intended?  I don’t know.  Click send, hope for the best.

In so many ways, I would like to take a step back, and just let the content fend for itself.  I want to believe that the site and its content is the best I could do, and the rest is up to the fate and inquisitiveness of those who find it.

But then, could you ignore the e-mails, asking for help about eyesight?

It nags at me, thoughts of the things I could to do to give you the best experience.  I think that if only I had better design abilities, or if I post more studies, or if I work harder to get more client testimonials, or if I make more, bigger, better free content, that it all would help you even more.  If I answer e-mails faster, if I reach out to more related health sites for discussion, If I spend more time.  You can’t put out a thing like this, and then not worry about those who seek help through it.

This, just as a quick glimpse behind the curtain, of Alex’ Monday morning.

I’m not meaning to complain, I just want to show you that all the ups and downs are not just for you, reading, working on your myopia.  I am on the other side here, invested in this just as much, hoping to help you along.

Now it’s on to looking over the forum to catch up on questions, there.  I do appreciate all of your posts there, and e-mails, and hope you are having a good experience with this site and project.
